About Yokomura Eco-lodge

We are a family (American husband, Japanese wife, and two kids) that live in the countryside of Japan, just outside of Tokyo, right by the border of Kanagawa and Yamanashi prefectures.  Since 2015, we have worked to renovate  a 150 year old farmhouse into a farm-to-table with Japanese chefs that cater locally grown organic food, and a bed and breakfast for people from around the world.

The name "Yokomura" is a name that was given to the house (as many families with the same surname lived in the same village, they named the houses, so people know who they are talking about), and we decided to keep that as the name of the lodge.

The house has been rebuilt to be comfortably used by 20+ people, and have high ceilings that with many windows to bring in lots of light and fresh air.

The house is also insulated to stay cool in the summers and warm in the winter. We have a separate bathhouse right outside of the main house, and you can also walk to a natural hot springs facility called Akiyama Onsen which is a 10 minute walk from the house.

We have done our best to make the house as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.  We hope you enjoy and relax at our lodge and the surrounding areas which are full of nature.
